Local Firefighter Matthew Fuentes Dies In MVA Accident

Authorities reported a major motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of a local Eagle Pass resident identified as Matthew Fuentes. 

 


The accident took place in an area along US Highway 57 near Frio County at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday September 15,2021 when Fuentes was aboard a private ambulance traveling to Eagle Pass. The ambulance crashed head on into an 18 wheeler truck.

Mr. Fuentes is reported to have died at the scene of the accident.

Two other Individuals are reported to have been taken to a hospital for treatment.

Fuentes was 22 years old and was part of the Eagle Pass Fire Department Family. He will be greatly missed.
